The first thing you need to know about crochet is that it is easier than it looks. The first stitch I will teach you is the single crochet stitch. You can use any hook you feel comfortable with for your first time. I am using a J hook.
First you want to make your loop................ (as pictured above)
I hold my hook with my right hand , my tail (short piece of yarn) with my middle finger and my thumb(on my left hand), and I wrap the yarn around my pointer finger and use my pinky finger for tension. This is done with my left hand. As pictured above use your right hand with the hook to pull the yarn through the loop you made. Congrats! You have just made your first single crochet stitch. :)
Now you just keep repeating the same process................
Until you get the length that you desire. See that was not so hard :) Stay tuned to my blog, as I will be adding more stitch tutorials and project tutorials. If you have any questions or need more help you can send me a message through my page I have on fb called Momma's Time Out. There is a link on the blog homepage. Thank you so much for crocheting with me! :)
